WEll....my "Catalina" dressing begins with catsup.....so I guess that's not what you are looking for....

Why not?

I found one at Recipezaar that contains ketchup, as do the other recipes I saw. Actually, the one at Recipezaar sounds quite good.

But why do you think it's not what I'm looking for? Wouldn't a tomato-based dressing be a good complement for taco salad?

I thought you wanted things without any additives at all....
Here ya go:
1/ 2 cup catsup
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
I clove garlic crushed,
1/2 to 1 tsp chili powder ( depending on how hot you like it...I want a bit of kick!)
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 T red wine vinegar
1/2 cup Olive oil......whisk well together.....and correct seasonings....
I like this on a spinach salad.....with red onion, sliced mushrooms and bacon.

Because ketchup has preservatives?

Oh.... I meant the ones in the commercial bottled dressings, the ones that are difficult to pronounce, the ones that we don't add to the dressings we make at home, LOL. Sorry I wasn't clear about that.
