LOOKING for: Low country boil

My family is getting together this weekend for a low country boil. We have our way of making it, but I was curious how other people made theirs.

What do you add, and what types of seasoning do you use?

We add:

potatoes

corn on the cob

sausage

onions

lemons

shrimp

Old Bay boil in the bag crab boil

Old Bay in crab seasoning in the tin

Sounds like the way I've had it a couple times.

This weekend, I'm headed to Savannah GA, lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant on Sunday and Monday nite going to a low country boil.

Have a good time in Savannah Glenda, and enjoy Paula Deen's, I've heard it's wonderful. My Mom and Dad love the place! I know for a fact that her recipe's are spectacular!

I live about 45 minutes from Savannah and it is just beautiful here right now. The dogwood trees are blooming and so are the azaleas. I'm sure your experiencing the same in Alabama though. Anyhow, have a great time.

Glenda..you lucky gal! I tried to get lunch reservations while there last Aug-but they were full with a 2 hour wait. From what I understood-they close after the lunch hours, then reopen for dinner a couple hours later. Is that true?

Jessie...I love Savannah! If given a choice-I would live there. Nothing more beautiful than walking under those gorgeous trees in the Squares and sitting along the Savannah River watching the ships-and the oysters there are to die for!!

I going with a group of 20, from here.
We leave Sat and return on Tues.
Should be fun.
Lots on the itinerary.

ONLY PEOBLEM, is what to pack. Low 60's day, 30's nite.
And I was all prepared to go SPRING wear!!

It has been getting chilly again Glenda. But during the day is it sooo nice. I swear the low 60's feel more like mid 70's. I'd pack short sleeves and maybe a thin jacket for those walks under the the oaks.
Let us know how your trip goes! And of course how good the Lady and Son's is!
