this recipe sounds interesting... How and when do you serve this? And what about making the patty and syrup?

Gosh, it's been so long since I've had it, I might be mistaken about the patty shape. We always had it for a snack or dessert, served cold and it's sort of like a very sweet, chewy cereal.
