This just sounds so odd to me - we know the food wrapper is food safe (presumably anyway) but is it necessarily microwave safe? I just think of the veggie touching some commercial type plastic wrap in the microwave and that just doesn't sound very appealing to me. Maybe its just me, but it seems unappetizing and possibly unhealthy.

I think I might wash it first......

I had thought of washing the head, then returning it to it's wrapper. Didn't occur to me that the wrapper might not be microwave safe. Hmmm.. I'll have to consider whether I want to be a human guinea pig.

I have a micro-safe plastic cooker thing...It will hold a smallish head of cauliflower.
Once I tried cooking the whole head....my design was to serve it in a bowl, whole, covered in a very cheesy bechamel.
But the core stayed hard....and if I had cooked it longer the florettes would have been mush.
So since then I cut up my cauliflower.

Here are instructions I found on the web. I have done this several times, and I probably used the wrapping it came in (after unwrapping and washing) if it didn't tear. In fact, I'm going to go do it right now.

To microwave cauliflower whole, clean, trim and wrap in plastic wrap. Place, sealed edges down, on microwave-safe serving dish. Cook at high for 3 minutes, turn over, and cook at high for 3 minutes more or until tender. Let stand, covered, 3 minutes before serving.
