If you are interested in apple cinnamon bread using a starter perhaps what you have is more of the Amish Friendship Bread starter rather than the traditional sourdough starter. They are both great, but very different and they are used in very different types of recipes.

The Amish Friedship Starter uses 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and one cup of milk with a little yeast. You increase this over several days until you have enough to bake with, some to share, and some left for the next baking.
