looking for: authentic gelato recipe

Ive done a search and have found several...some use lite cream some use whole cream some milk. I read an article from Mario batali he says only use whole milk! HMMMM anyone have a tried & true to share. I was originally looking for PUMPKIN GELATO and found nothing. Thanks
