I speak from experience.....you really need the big marshmallows. The little ones are drier, there is more cornstarch on the outside and more outside....and it doesn't work.
Wait until you can get the real big marshmallows.
By the way....would you post that recipe? I am not sure I really know where I put my copy...and it was really good and hard to spoil fudge....if you followed directions!! LOL!

fudge
41/2 cup sugar
1 large can carnation milk
1/8 cup butter
2 (1lb) hershey bars
16 large marshmellows or 2 cup mini
1 large pkt. choc chips
1 T vanilla
11/2 cup chopped nuts.
Mis first 3 ingredients and heat to boil, boil for 5 min,stirring constantly. Mix other items together and pour first mixture over top. Stir until smooth. Pour into 13+13 pan. Yields 5 lbs.

Snyder, did you make the fudge using the small marshmallows? If so, how was it? This is the only fudge recipe I have ever used, but this is the first time I have come across it anywhere else. The only difference I see is my recipe calls for oleo (but I use butter) and it says to quarter the marshmallows.
