Help with color please!

We are much closer to getting the ball rolling on our new kitchen. I have to come up with a wall color and really am quite untalanted so input for wall color will be greatly appreciated!

Cabinets will be Diamonds - LaGrange in Amaretto Cream (off white glazed).

Faucet and hardware will be ORB.

Granite will be New Venetian Gold.

Flooring is a tad darker and more rustic than this pic shows. It is Formica Quintessa Valhalla Birch..

I have no idea what backsplash will be yet except I learn towards a neutral creamy beige. But I have to have a wall color chosen now. If I could do that I may be able to sleep tonight and this ball would be rolling much sooner! :)

Green? Brown? Burnt Orange?? ughhh. Paint name suggestions would be super duper appreciated! Paint will either be Behr or BM.

Thanks everyone!

What "feel" are you going for? Light and airy, cozy and homey, formal, traditional, warm, cool, historic, elegant, classic?

Why do you need a wall color now?

    Thanks for looking! :)

I want cozy/homey warm and traditional/transitional. I know I don't want yellow. Thats what my current kitchen is and I'm tired of looking at it... and my LR is the same strawhat yellow, oh and my couch is yellow. so that color is out. lol
I guess I'm looking for a suggestion for a BM brownish or greenish color. I thought brown because of the ORB accessories and it would be warm? Showing off how much I don't know about decorating!

Fori: My contractor said he will paint before the cabinets go in. I'm hoping like crazy once things get going that I will be headed for Mazatlan for a couple of weeks to enjoy some time with my sis's but mostly to get out of the stress zone. This will be a long one since we are literally swapping our DR and kitchen with retaining wall coming down, everything new including plumbing in the new room on a concrete slab. the works... so I'm hoping to make all the big decisions then split once I see things are moving along as they should.

And.. I'm quite neurotic and can't seem to move on to the next thing until I make a decision. Wierd I know. Thank you for looking and thanks in advance for any input/ideas! :)

    Oh, I see. :)

I think a warm greenish, but I'm sort of down on brown when it comes to walls.

But one way to multiply your stress is to get outta town when things are happening. Don't leave town when details are going in!

And remember, even if you end up with a terrible horrible paint color, it's not that hard to redo. Unless you already bought tea towels to match.

I would go with a nice tan with some gray green undertones. Something like this maybe? I sort of mixed it myself so I have no color name. However, it reads like a grayish warm green. I really do like it. I think it would be lovely in your kitchen! I love all you have chosen thus far!

What about Saybrook Sage, Dry Sage or Rosemary Sprig (All BM colors). They all seem to go well with yellow also, so if you have a shared wall or view from your kitchen into your living room they won't clash. Nantucket Gray is a nice color too.

We painted our hearth room Berkshire Beige.

I can only tell what I chose for my very similar combinations. I hope to post pictures in a week or 2 after the backsplash and trim are finished. We have creamy white cabinets and venetian gold granite and were going for a transitional look. The wall color is BM monroe bisque and the trim is monterey white.

cozy/homey warm *IS* yellow. I don't mean Duck Yellow, I mean if u want a warm feeling, that's what a YELLOW CAST gives u, now u have to decide how much yellow on the brown, if that's what u like. Green and Yellow crash I believe, and I don't feel warm with green, but the walls are only part of your kitchen. Your floor is warm, you counter top with the brown splotches is warm, and u got brown trims on the caps, so now u gotta decide whether that's warm enough for u and some green wall to complement is gonna do the trick. That and how much natural lighting u want/available in the space and even color of your proposed lighting.

    In general:
    Yellow = warm
    Blue = cold
    Natural light (blue) = cold
Artificial and warm white lights = warm
    Intenser color = cozyness,
Neutral light color = opens, airy.

There is a science to this I believe, but am not gone that far ahead myself.

Hope I didn't make it more complicated for u! :)

A lot depends on how much wall you have! If you have mostly cabinets and backsplash and not so much wall, how about a rich caramel? It'll make all your lights pop, and will blend like a neutral, but much warmer, without being really orange or red.

Oh wow! I left to get my grays colored and came back to so many nice ideas! Thanks!

I don't have much wall in the kitchen but will have some in DR.
I like the idea of caramel. Is tyler taupe a caramel? Or on the greens I've wondered if Nantucket gray would be right or maybe baby turtle (brownish green) would work. I've never had them but have read on here that many love those colors. Thank you all again. Its very helpful and your input is soooo appreciated!

I have similar cabinets & floors - my walls are Behr "rejuvinate" It definitely looks more olive & less pastel in person, but not dark at all - very warm against the cream cabinets.

How did your kitchen come out? It's been over a year, how do you like everything?
I'm stressing at the thought of our upcoming remodel.
We are down to the LaGrange or the Selena in Toasted Almond,(they said it was more white than the Ameretto Creame),
with Galaxy Black counter, and an Absolute Black farm sink/w copper front, faux brick backsplash (copper/cream color)
I'd love to see finished pictures of your new kitchen. I'll check the Finished Kitchen blog to see if they are there.
