I have mine in boxes in the basement but my DIL puts hers in plastic bins and stacks them in the closet. Then if she has guests, she can take out the bins and leave room for clothes and etc.

Mine is stored in labeled plastic bins in the basement. I'm an obsessive labeler.

Thanks for the ideas. I will have to get DH to help me move them to the attic. That is where we store Christmas stuff. I should have thought of that!!

We also have storage in the attic, though as far as I know of it's just stuff of our grown children. We used the attic of our detached garage at our last home for Christmas decorations among other things. I love attics. We're working on adding a floors for more storage in out attic since our wood work shop in the basement could use more room.

I have open shelving in my laundry/mechanical room. Boxes labeled on the shelves covers it. Over the years I have learned plastic is a better choice than computer paper boxes! I have very large bins for larger items. Some flower arrangements I have covered in plastic bags sitting on open shelves. DH finds the space tight when he fills the water softener. He offered to make a shelf system for his shop, "for me". That would entail me going in and out of the house to put stuff away, get new items out. I passed and told him he could feel free to store the salt out there. ;)

This post reminded me of a blog post a year or so ago. My husband wouldn't tolerate the garage being for storage but here is how she stores all her decor goodies.

Wow seeing all those ideas itltrot I realized I have more stuff than just what's in my basement. I too have pillows stored in closets and cubes and hat boxes with decor stuff in them too. Even two pattern cabinets I purchased when a fabric store I worked at closed. I also have a number of the plastic stacked drawers. Now I want to go through it all and get rid of most of it. I just don't need all that stuff that has been collected for numerous home the past 31 years of marriage and my teen years. Not sure I have anything beyond that unless you count things that were my Mom's.
