I didn't end up purchasing a sleeper (we went with a bed for that room), but I looked at Vanguard. They are based in NC.

We love our American Leather Kristina 2-seat sleeper sofa. Everyone who has slept on it tells us how comfortable it is. We did buy special sleeper sheets for it, because the mattress is not deep.

Make sure and get one with the air mattress. They are wonderful. You have a pump that is plugged in and you inflate to your comfort level. They make the sofa bed more expensive but they are amazing..better than your real bed :) I have used the one at my brother's apt for weeks and it is so comfy. c

Another vote for american leather. It is a proper platform bed with a good quality mattress. you can upgrade to tempurpedic. Easy to pull out and set up. I first tried it at a friend's place in manhattan where this was the main bed. No horrible springs or leaky air.

Another vote for American Leather brand--not necessarily done in leather. DD slept on one and said it was the first comfortable sleeper sofa she'd ever slept on. She hunted around until she found one for their guests. I think she may also have a memory foam for the top of the mattress, but I laid on it, and it really was different than the usual. I haven't tried Stickley or Vanguard.

What are the prices ranges for American Leather sleeper sofas? None of the websites list prices.

Just curious- are these sleeper sofas more comfortable than a high quality air mattress?

    Thanks for all the recs!!

Pps7- way more comfortable. We lost our guest bedroom when we decided to have my mom come and live with us. The air bed always feels squishy by morning and does not feel as supportive as a platform bed which is what American leather is.. No springs etc. you can even upgrade the mattress to tempurpedic.

Tinan - we got ours from room and board. You can buy the comfort sleeper system from American Leather directly or from any of the retailers who have licensed the system - crate and barrel, room and board etc. They just introduced a modular system a couple of months ago.

tinan, I just happened to notice this on CL...they want $2000 for a used American Leather loveseat size sleeper. Not sure they'll get it, but it might give you an idea of how pricey they are.

Here is a link that might be useful: American leather sleeper loveseat

They can be pretty expensive (several thousand I think, depending on the fabric or leather), but you might find one on CL or a floor model at a store for much less--DD got hers that way. I'd be surprised if that CL loveseat olychick linked sells for $2000. That seems high for that size since most people would want at least a queen I'm guessing. Good luck!
