That front door is crying out to be red. If you want to get away from the creamy yellow (which would look better with the red door), try a taupe.

I am rather fond of the creamy color that is on their now. What if you just painted the door and left everything else as is.

Good question Lyban and I happen to agree that I like the current shutter color. Maybe some flowers and maybe a painted door is all that may be needed.

This is a traditional colonial so I'm sure that would be the garage on the side. Very common and popular style in the eastern states.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I really like it as it is. I think by having the door and the surround painted the same color, it gives it much more presence. I like the creamy color with your brick, too. I could see putting larger, more substantial lights on either side of the door, and nixing the flower pouches. Maybe topiaries on each side??

I want to like it because it is matchy, and I love matchy! But I don't. Maybe remove the shutters and replace someday with larger or a different style?

I like your house the way it is. I do feel the large shrubs on the right side look squatty and the squared off ones by the step don't look natural. I really like the yuccas or whatever they are on the left side under the tree. They add texture. I would add something else to the other side, hosta or small rhodo and evergreen planting.

Add larger lights by the door and move the too small flowers. Maybe flower boxes below the two upper end windows could reflect a front door color.

The present color is great....but the shutters are too small for the size of the windows.
And the shrubs are very poorly pruned.....and I agree some nce urns....full of flowers....and a small evergreen in the winter.

I really like the slightly green shutters with a contrasting door. It really seems to fit in the your wonderfully wooded lot.
