With a mural like that with so many different colors, I'd keep the rest of your backsplash a neutral color so as not to compete. Do you like the white or off-white subway tiles?

As far as your countertop color, you need to narrow down your choice of material first, then choose a color.

You definitely don't need to match your backsplash or your countertop to your chairs.

I agree with Erikanh..dark hardwood floor, green countertops, subway tile backsplash in a cream similar to cabinets. You don't want anything competing with the cooking/backsplash area.

I forgot to tell you I adore robin's egg blue and French blue. I used similar colors on our kitchen walls, for kitchen accents and for the dining room cabinetry.

Thank you so much for your input. I have several samples of green solid surface countertop but didn't know if that would look okay with the blue chairs. You don't think the white/off white backsplash would be too much with the white/off white cabinets?

patreesh, have you tried collecting photos of kitchens with white cabinets that you love? I amassed loads of inspiration photos and it helped me immensely to discover what styles, colors and details I wanted in my kitchen.

I've seen lots of beautiful kitchens with white cabinets and white tile backsplashes. Look in the Finished Kitchen Blog and you'll see lots.
