No. Lots of good info on the Appliance Forum on this issue. Consumer Reports big caveat is that CFM isn't everything it means better ventilation but doesn't guarantee better capture and removal. I was out pricing the Air King Vision tonight.

Any suggestion on CFMs for a hood for a 30" electric range? It will be vented outdoors (probably with a 90 deg. angle) about 5 feet from the range. Thanks!

How big is the diameter of your round duct, or what dimensions is your rectangular duct?

How much make-up air are you able to provide? The more air is sucked out of the house, the more "make up" is needed. Air is not compressible (unless under a lot of pressure) so you need to replace every cubic inch you send out of the house.

Thanks for your response! This is a new install as part of a kitchen makeover. Currently we have a ductless hood (which is worthless). I've been looking at the Broan Allure II with 350 cfm feeling like anything bigger is overkill. Make-up air could be provided by opening up a window.
