Progress on new guest room...

I posted a little while back about DS moving out...link below. Just wanted to share my bit of progress. The room has potential to be a sweet little guest room but with my youngest out of school now, I've lost a little momentum after a motivated beginning! The important thing is that the room is now clean (and quiet!).

You can see the before (actually the true "before" pic would have been too scary to show -- the pic I posted was from mid-move) pic in the other thread. And this is what it looks like now. I like the bed centered. Not sure what I'll do with the window, curtain-wise. It has a cellular shade for privacy. I got the nightstands from Overstock. They match the bed nicely. I need bedside lighting and have been poking around on CL for a small chair, though I may just look for a bench for the end of the bed instead.

In a corner you can't see, I'm placing a small West Elm parsons desk that I had in another room.

That looks wonderful so far! Love the bed centered under the window. Since you have the cellular shade, maybe just some light/sheer-ish panels to soften that area if you really feel you need something more. I think once you get the lamps, you may not need anything else, but then, I don't use anything on most of my windows, so take that for what it is worth! :)

It looks great! I vote for both a bench at the end of the bed to put on shoes, throw bedcovers, etc., and a chair with a floor lamp or small table with lamp to read and of course, a basket by the chair with some reading material/magazines.

The pic may be deceiving...probably with a bench at the foot of the bed, a chair will make things a bit crowded, or at least hard to maneuver over to the head of the bed. After the way this room looked for the past several years (lots and lots of stuff), I'm happy to keep things "airy" for a bit!

DH is having a colonoscopy tomorrow a.m. and we're anticipating a long night for him with the prep, and a very early wake-up time, so I may be sleeping in this room tonight! Which reminds me...need a little clock for the bedside table...
