Thank you for your response. The sink wall is 140 1/2", both ends having a 36" corner base. The row starts like this: 36" corner base - 21" trash base - 27" sink base - 24" DW - 33" corner base. My GC wants to take off 1/4" on either side of the row to keep the sink base centered. The cabinets I'm getting are Medallion Brookhill, I think they're frameless? How does this affect my doors? My GC did look at the cabinets and said he could do it.

If they are framless, I don't see how he can cut down the width of the cabinets. In framless, the doors are almost exactly the same width as the boxes. You can't make the box without affecting the doors.

As I stated earlier, there is nothing to trim on frameless cabinets to make them narrower. The boxes have to be disassembled, the top, bottom and back cut down, and reassembled; you are then left with the prospect of the doors rubbing, if they were full overlay type. If slab doors, not much of a problem if you don't mind the finish being a little iffy. If any kind of paneled door, widths of the center stile will be affected, throwing off the door's internal symmetry.

Thank you all for your advice. My other alternative would be to get a 18" trash instead of the 21" trash which would gain me 3 inches, of which I really need 1". I'd prefer a 2" spacer vs. cutting the cabinets. I THINK my sink might be off around 1/2" to center that way, but I've been living with a sink 3" off center for 18 years. I'm going to the KD tomorrow and see what she says. I'm just finding out now that the relationship between the KD and GC can be very interesting. I'll let you know how I make out.

I might pressure the GC to deal w/ a 24" sink cabinet. It might be a tighter fit for the plumber, but it can't be IMPOSSIBLE!.

and I'd far prefer to pay him a little extra so he can hire a younger, skinnier plumber than risk voiding the warranty on my cabinets.

Medallion is framed.

The ticor S505 "should" be able to stuffed into a 24" cabinet. The bowl itself is only 21" wide. Your contractor can rout a little bit off the top of the cabinet sides if its needed - just enough for the sink flange.

I'd ask medallion for the interior width of the cabinet to be sure.

Thank you all for your advice! My GC is the plumber and I asked him if he could cut the 24" cabinet to fit the Ticor sink (I gave him the dimensions). He was like, "what brand??, what gauge?". I'm NOT telling him the price! He said it also has to do with the granite, and not having enough room to install the sink in that space? I hope to meet with my KD today and will ask her about the exact space inside the 24" sink cabinet and what she thinks about him "cutting" a little. Bmore: I didn't know that my cabinets were framed, thanks! Does that mean that him "cutting" off a little on each cabinet would be OK?

I think this is about the fact that I didn't go with the $27,000 custom cabinets that my GC wanted me to get, we're not getting the expensive sink and faucet through him, and the fact that the young girl KD has a better design then he came up with, and now he's getting a little pissy. He'll get over it! We've used him before, and I know he does good work.

One of the great features of Medallion Cabinetry is that you can order in a custom width. They will build a cabinet to your specifications. Modifications like this generally add about an additional 30% to the cost of the cabinet. You can order a 26.5" cabinet which should be able to accommodate your sink without having to cut the cabinet.

I would have to see the 2020 to be able to speak completely accurately, but based on the cabinet sizes that you mentioned, why not just use 33" corner bases in each corner and gain 3" without cutting down the cabinets? You may have to use a filler in an area but seems a little more simple.
