The best displays I have seen for such specific memorabilia such as yours have been related to the subject. For example, a display of toy train cars on a specially constructed wall unit that looked like a caboose.

If there was some way to have a carpenter make you a large genie bottle with shelves incorporated into the design, that would be a fun way to display your collection. And in this instance I would think the kitschy-ier the better... after all, it should be fun to look at :)

Our collections are displayed on basic Ikea "Billy" shelving -- mixed in with books and other items like baskets that could hold sewing bits-and-pieces.

Those Ikea cabinets now come with optional glass-front doors which might work very well for your display. And they come with an optional cabinet to sit on the top of the bookcases and make them go up to the ceiling.

OR look around your area for possible glass fronted cabinets.

Do check on your local Craigs List -- folks are getting rid of TV cabinets and armoires -- some do have glass doors -- so that might work.

So ..... to sum up -- a wall of basic fresh white or black shelving (with possible glass doors) might work best for both sewing items AND your collection.

Paint the walls in a "Jeannie" color -- and add a fun valance to the window. You could add a large bulletin board (or make one) above your sewing area for fun photos and displays -- as well as sewing inspirations too.
