Fun place to go

If you are in the St. Louis area, be sure to make time for the City Museum. It is so much fun! A local artist took an old building and using found/recyled materials has built a massive art & play place. There are mosaics everywhere, and there is a crafting room, aquarium, and a gallery to watch glass blowers. Kids are running everywhere but it's a good time for adults, too. I only manage to go about once a year, but each time he has built something new. I find his work so inspirational, and I'm glad that the beautiful architectural details are not lost to landfills.

That fence is actually one of my all time favorite pieces there! He used old railings (I think) to form the spines. I took my step brother & his family there this summer. When I suggested the City Museum, he was worried the four kids wouldn't really dig it but we had to practically pry them out of there.

Hey, Andrea, thanks for posting the link to this. I've never been there, though my SIL has told me for years she wants us to take our kids there. She's been several times I think. She and my brother used to live in Fairview Heights, IL, so were close to St Louis. They are in Warrenton, MO now. But maybe we'll get up there someday yet.
