commission - dolphins

my BIL sent me some broken china that was his other half's father's. He said she cries every time she breaks a pieces so he wondered if I could make something cool for her,, oh and BTW she loves dolphins.

it has a small flow blue edge so I'm going to use it to make the dolphins in this piece... I kept it small so it would be cost effective for him.

WOW - that genealogy can get confusing. NT: You've amazed me again as you always do. You whipped this out overnight, and it's absolutely wonderful. Lucky ducks who w/receive this. Your shading is great.

thanks Slow, I was so excited to see how the dolphins came out. The flow blue edges of the plates weren't very big and I was nervous about having to work so small, especially the 2nd one up - looking at us, I thought I'd never get that to work.

I Love that big twirling pc of kelp!!! She is gonna L.O.V.E. this!!! I'm freakin' out and it isn't even for me! I just love seeing how your mind works...it is sooo INSPIRING!!!

Ditto to ERNIE and CALAM: I noticed there's no glass in that little area where it glistens like water. Pray tell - how did you do that? I love the background w/the blending from light to dark too. Everything about this yells TALENT.

yeah, the splash area! I made those splashy pieces on the ring saw and after gluing them on I realized that the cool lines of those cut outs would be lost if I tried to fit more glass around to fill, so I opted to just do a bigger area (it is only 2 inches wide) of sky matching grout (reinforced with weldbond) and I even laid in a little white grout to mimic sea foam.

thanks everyone, my BIL said he was speechless and increased the amount he was sending me! lol
