Don't drink and mosaic... it's a bad combination. Tomorrow you'll look at this and wonder "Who the heck did that?"

I Looked at a pic at this site and just drew it while looking at it . I don't have a clue what the backround will be ...LOL ...

Just toss your glass bits in the tumbler before you glue them down. No more cuts.

Thank you ! As for what I'm doing - it's tracing paper glued onto the wood. I spray it with glue so it's permanent . I'm too lazy to transfer the pattern ... LOL
As of this post - I'm 3/4 of the way done with the bird !

Oh, TM - that is spectacular, and I LOVE BAMA's idea of the addition of background scenery. That's an old calendar board, isn't it? I used the same thing for my Mo's "Cone Flowers" and the front moulding to "Suzie's Shrine". They're really great to recycle. Love this piece. You're REALLY fast.

OH..it's so REGAL looking! GREAT job on the heron...right down to it's knobby knees(?)! LOVE all the greens!

Thank you for the compliments ! I got the frame at the Goodwill for 99 cents. I cut a piece of luann plywood for the backing. I've been gluing the tracing paper down now for a couple months. I cut the paper to fit the frame , just lay it on and sketch. Sometimes I'll make a second copy by tracing over the one I glued down.( just to keep ) The I use spray adhesive and glue it down. It makes it SO much easier for these old eyes to see,too.

oooooooooooo, I'm liking him a lot. You did a great job drawing him, and he's looking really good in glass. Can't wait to see it finished. I guess you'll have to decide on the rest of the background before you pick a grout color, I was just wondering if you'll be doing the heron in white to blend with his "feathers" or something else. This grout color thing I'm still working on understanding (how it will affect the projects).

Maybe a sunset background (yellow orange/red) would compliment your colors. Maybe in wide horizontal waves????

That's right emtnest, the glass gets glued right to the paper which is glued to the wood.

Yes.. a name would be good. He's very proud and determined looking. Noticing that I say "he"... shouldn't do that! :)

You have so much talent. Love this and love your lion. You have this technique down pat. Did you decide on the background? I'm in a brown and blue mood (mostly blue) lately. I can see some subdued Tiffany-looking brown so the heron and bottom part will stand out. Oh wait, maybe I have so little imagination, I'm looking at the wood color and thinking it looks good on that color...
