oh man now I see all kinds of different shapes trees like this... Rose - you're going to get me in to trouble... I can see it now, Mrs C we like your design over all but one question was it THAT? Oh that? it's pink milifiori because that's a cherry tree at the entrance to your property... LOL

D3BBI: The trunk and grass ARE glass. There seems to be a horizontal reflection on the trunk which makes it look kinda odd. My original plan was to mosaic the background but I wanted the texture of the millefiori to stand out. I used several shades of blue and painted directly onto the piece of plywood (substrate).
If using super glue I would issue a caution because I glued my shirt and vest together (oops!).

I love it! It looks like springtime.

RMT that is absolutely freakin ADORABLE... I have seen millefiori used like that before but not with a painted background..that really sets it off making it 3d like that..I have to caution you with the superglue though...yours is on wood so it probably will be fine but when I used it, it seemed to work great but a few months later the pieces started to pop off. But if yours does at least you can just glue it back on easily enough!!!!!

I actually glued my fingers to the glass using super glue because I had to hold the piece to let it set (on a slight curve) and not slide and didnt know I had it on my finger...man it hurts to pull you flesh off the glass!!!!

Linlee: Yes, in fact I had printed a copy of 'summer forest'. I get my millefiori from Dancing Millefiori (aka Murano Millefiori) and Mosaic Mercantile. MM sells packages of the same designs, a couple of which DM doesn't have. I'm really liking the geometric shapes that I've seen also. Just wish it wasn't so darn expensive but it sure makes a statement! I might go back to this piece and do some more work on it.

RMT- I just came back to take another look at your gorgeous tree. I missed the fact that you had flowers falling out of your tree...I dont know how I missed that before....and I had to of course go look at "summer forest" to see what it looked like and it was awesome, I can see why Linlee and you fell in love with it!!!
