I started a little kettle tonight. One of those aluminum ones for coffee that has a wooden handle and a little glass top. Bought it at the flea market before the holidays.

Im feeling guilty now...I was whining earlier about it being cold here..should I even say it was 35 degrees. Man that probably feels like summer to you!!!! Brr I have never been in weather that cold. Drink some cocoa for me and get warm!!!

How imaginative! Love the colors and design and how they are not distorted on the round. Have a lot of trouble with that myself.

When I saw a few of you mentioning pink, I had to go back to look since I didn't put pink on there. Sure enough, it was the seaweed, made from the Italian vitreous tiles. The colour is actually a metallic copper. LOL!!

As with all projects, I'm not as fast as most are here and have been staring at my little kettle tonight... I wish I could snap out of those stages when a wall just seems to hit you.

That's the reason I always love to have a few things on the go. Birdhouse here I come!!

Tiffy, I love your buoys! Your color choices are great! Beautiful job! Now I want to go shopping for buoys.

Did you do any prep prior to adhering the glass? What did you use for adhesive? Curious since I'm thinking they are made of styorfoam - maybe I'm wrong.

I use GEII for everything I do, and it worked well on the styrofoam. It's different styro though. Really dense. The surface appeared to have a coating on it (maybe not) so I sanded it a bit with sandpaper for metal to make it rougher.

If you live in an area that supplies fishermen with anything and everything, they should have them. Right price too - $3.00 for this one!

Oh. That explains your response to my question about the old glass ones. I had thought you'd bought antique buoys, and was wondering about their inventory of OLD buoys. Very nice price indeed for a new one.
