The base will be fine to mosaic. That sure is adorable!!! Is it a matching pair!? Just pick something about it that you think would look good mosaiced, then see how it goes from there, let it tell you! HAVE FUN!!!

Thanks for the help. I'm thinking something shiny for the thong & flower to pick up the flames, I'll have to see what I have or can get for the "foot" part.

No matching pair, I had to make something with a 90° angle, most were making bookends, but I only made one because I didn't have enough room on the bookshelves to actually use them for bookends, LOL! The instructor said I could make just one, so I did:) I still do clay, maybe I 'll make some things just to mosaic, but I've got several things that aren't my favorites that I can use now that I've got my mind on that track...

That's a GREAT candle holder! I like Calamity's advice about starting on a favorite part and going from there.

Adorable,you could market these....use a glass votive holder with tea-lites then you know you won't have a problem.

The heat shouldn't be a problem. I did my chandelier globes
and they get pretty hot, and it's been a year with no problems. That's is really cute! that will be a fun project.

Oh, I forgot to make sure, these glues are what I was thinking of using, I have Goop but can get the GEII or whatever would be best around heat.

I think that is a great idea to mosaic the strap, flower and yeah, the toenails. Then get/make a candle holder to fit and mosaic that to match. Oh, how cool!

If it were my foot, LOL, I would mosaic the
entire piece, then place a small tealight holder
in the base. Hob Lob has small round glass holders
which are small enough not to detract from your work.
They run about 99 cents and in our area come in red,
amber, blue, green and clear. They even go on sale
half off now and then.

Just an idea. I'm sure you can find one to go with
your foot no matter how you mosaic it. Hope you will
share pictures when you are finished. Have fun!
