Bummer, bummer, bummer!

Having recently jumped back into the workforce,

I find myself without time to chat, do mosaics

or even keep my legs shaved. Not that the latter

has ever been too terribly important.

;-)

Well, I just have to share this with someone, and

I love the way this board hops, it is so active!

The local donation / thrift store has been saving

boxes of broken items for me. Depending on what is

in the box, they charge me a dollar or two. Now it

seems we're on a schedule. Several boxes full each

week on Wednesday.

Well, yesterday I was in a hurry, glanced into the

boxes, loaded them and proceeded to work. It was not

until almost bedtime that I had a chance to peer into

the boxes. This is like having a birthday present waiting

for you, but you can't get to it! All that treasure just

sitting there, waiting, waiting for me!

That same morning at the thrift shop, I found a HUGE

lamp and a giant heavy duty frame just waiting for a

piece of Hardibacker and mosaics! It was absolutely

perfect!

Who knows what I will do or when I will do anything

with any of it, but it is certainly a lot of fun just

knowing I have it!

Just rambling at this point, wanted to share.

:-) KM

OH I FEEL your pain. I am in the same boat right now. Seems I just have to work or shovel snow almost every day lately. Then when I do not have to work I have to clean house or just too tired to mosaic.

What a great deal with the thrift store you have set up. I think I need to make it a point to go shop our little local thrift tomorrow. Will be a good outing for me. I will have hubby drive me out of here.

I hope you can come out and play soon.

awe... I'm sorry for your lack of time. But I think your deal with the TS sounds delightful!

I also KNOW the feeling. When I worked ... I had time for nothing. I worked, we needed the money --- but I felt trapped. I found out that some people have so much energy - they can do both - work & do crafts. I can't. But like you .... my stash was precious to me. I KNEW some day ... I'd be able to get at it. It's even better if you save the surprise !!!! You aren't alone ..... especially in the shaving area ... the only reason I'd raise my arms is if someone was giving away free plates -- I'd wave saying
" PICK ME " !!! Does that tell you what part of my body is neglected ??? LOL Join the club --- we're all alike .

Kinda like me and Cracker Jacks. I know the popcorn and peanuts aren't that good, but it's the excitement of finding out what the toy surprise is!!

Wuvie...I also can totally relate!!! I have recently gotten to become semi-retired and I just dont know how I did what I did then..cause I sure dont have the energy to do it now!!! I work two weeks on and then have two weeks off. I can barely keep up with the house (and its just hubby, me and the dog!!) and cooking when I do work let alone find time or the energy to mosaic!!!!

Glad you get all that cool stuff from the TS, ares would never do anything like that for us. They would have too many people upset about it!!!

Hope you find a little time for yourself!!!

Shaved legs are over-rated! You'll get a rythm and then you'll have time for mosaics. Hang in there!
Great deal with the TS, lucky you!

    Your thrift shop sounds wonderful!
I haven't gone hunting for treasures in so long. My stash is
pretty big already, but the excitement of the find is what I'm missing.

We're supposed to shave in the winter??? Who knew!
Great 'regular' score! (And yes, this board is WAY more active, which is why I'm here all day, every day...)

Shaved legs? I thought it was just my winter coat growing in. ;-O

Were you already a regular at that TS or did you just approach them one day about busted stuff?
