I love the blue!

Becky, That is a pretty pot. Is the pot shiny all the way down like the top and you did your mosaic over the shiny part? If so did you have to do something to the shiny part so things would stick?

Thanks to everyone on all the nice comments about my sunflower pot. I will try and answer questions asked. First, it is just a plain 12 in terra cotta pot. I painted the top and inside in an acrylic cobalt blue. I always apply three coats of sealant over the entire pot when finished (inside & out). I think it gives them a shiny finished look besides protecting the work. Second, I never plant directly into any of my pots...always suggest to line it with a liner or use a smaller plastic pot and actually plant in that. That way, no chance of moisture seeping into the terra cotta and loosening the tile or stained glass.

This is a darling pot! Stupid question time: do you seal the paint with some kind of sealer, too, or just the grout?

Becky, I love your pots! the blue is really attractive as a back drop for the sunflower. What are you using for a sealer?

I use a masonry sealer found at any hardware store. But I use one with a high gloss. And yes I do the entire pot inside and out after it is all finished. Three coats.
