Do you all remember when I told you about the plastic tissue box that completely came apart during grouting? Well here it is! I may have been down, but I finally finished it and I like it!

So what did you end up doing to fix the problem?
    It turned out great!

Uh, well Hazie, it all fell apart and what was left, I pulled off. So I had to start competely from scratch. I sanded, primed and sanded a bit more then went back to gluing and praying it would stay this time. I also made sure to use the spectralock grout because I seem to do so much better with it than the other grouts. Yes, there is irridescent glass and all kinds of glass on this one. I feel good that I started all over and made it work. Thanks guys!

GEESH - memory is really going. I DON'T remember this box, but I'm so glad you salvaged it. What was the problem at first? What adhesive had you used? It's very pretty.

Thank goodness you did persevere, it came out great! Wonderful blend of colors..It's so nice to do a simple design sometimes and let beautiful glass just look beautiful, isn't it?

    Very pretty

I didn't post the pics last time-just whined about it alot! It simply fell apart during grouting and we (meaning all you helpful forum friends) determined that it was probably poor preparation of the substrate. So I tried to do better this time and it remained intact. I wish I had done a darker color grout on it, but I am still pretty happy with it.

Yeah, you whipped that puppy into shape didn't you! LOL
    I likes it!

I remember the problems..glad you got it fixed this time!!! I learned the hard way on my first bird bath...I have all the cut vitreous in a box hoping to use it some day....

If you dont like your grout color why dont you do a color wash on it???

    It turned out great!!!

I thought about the colorwash Chickee, but I think I'm just gonna leave it for now. Just for kicks, what color do you think would work? There's a lot of green tones to it and pink as well as iridized, yellow, cobalt blue teal, and purple. I was thinking a light green-very light green-to match my mil's bathroom...but maybe not. I am always afraid of messing up a perfectly good piece. aaarrrhhh! I frustrate myself. lol
