Mirror wip (acid trip)

I used metalic purple paint and painted clear wave glass. Then i used a peice of clear textured glass and washed it with black paint and wipped it off and glued rose colored tissue paper on it. Then i took another clear textured sheet and glued a flower tissue paper on it.

I so went out of my comfort zone here. But had so much fun. I made the sheets a few agos. And just got around to cutting them yesterday and today.

Sheet of flower glass.

What beautiful tiles you created! And your mirror is so bright and cheery and pretty!

Very Cool! There is a lady in Bucerias, in Mexico, who paints the back of glass and does mosaics that way! I really like the whole idea but when I tried it myself it was disasterous! I'll have to try again cuz you sure did an inspiring job!!!

OK, GIRLIE: You've set my mind a-twirl. This is absolutly FABULOUS!! Your frame is so outstanding, and the technique I gotta try. I had a bit of trouble w/my experiment in Faux Gogh cuz I put them in a jar and somehow got water in the jar, and you know what happened when they got jostled around - yep. Paint came off of some. I didn't lose many cuz I didn't MAKE many, so I soooooooo want to try your tissue paper method. I just LOVE that frame. Did you find that any of the edges chipped when you scored and broke the pieces? Mine didn't chip badly, so where there were chips I dabbed a bit of black paint to cover. You've really got me wanting to get back home and try this. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL frame.

OMG...that is beautiful.............you have patience! Very clever...the colors are just beautiful.

It did peel some on the side. I had to score and score again to get through the paper and then fliped and scored the glass side. Some chiped. But i figured i can just touch up before i glue. Now grout color???

Love this idea, and the piece so far. The idea presents all sorts of possibilities.

Gretch, your glass is BEAUTIFUL! What adhesive did you use for the paper? Then did you do something to the backside of the paper? Your mirror is so unique.

I'm so impressed ! I envy anyone that is brave enough to experiment !! Those tiles are to die for !!!

I used modpodge to glue paper to the glass. Put one coat of it on the glass laid the paper out then covered with more.

That is so pretty I love that .

I'm really, really liking this. You get a gold star for experimentation!:)
I can't wait to see it grouted, it's going to be fabulous I think.

The tiles turned out looking great. I have a lot of textured clear glass that I may try painting. I probably do black grout to make it pop.

Yup, black grout. It won't compete with all of the colors you have and will outline each piece nicely. Did you fussy cut your tiles or just cut strips and then cut pieces from those?

Love the thread title. Acid trip is almost as good as bozo barf!

Cut in strips and then cut them again to the length i wanted.

OK - back home and ready to go to work playing tomorrow, and want to know more about your proceedure cuz I have a stash of textured clear glass. When you say you scored and scored the paper side, then flipped and scored the glass, I don't understand that. See if I'm getting it right. When you score the paper side - is this w/a craft knife? Then when you turn it over, you can see where to run your glass scoring line, then just put your ruler on that line and score/break? Wish I had some pretty tissue paper to experiment tomorrow, but w/make do w/whatever I can come up with. I suppose just a collage of different colors of any kind of tissue paper w/do. I so love that mirror.
