I've been meaning to post my "glass on acrylic" project for sometime -- finally remembered to take a picture!

My niece came to visit one weekend, and I bought a bag of glass flat-back marbels and some acrylic and glue for an art project for us. I bought her a sheet of sturdy, reasonably sized acrylic, maybe 7"x10". As we sat down to work, I realized the only other acrylic I had was a large sheet (36"x 20") that was left over from covering a window. Foolishly, I plowed on.

She finished hers that afternoon, and took it home to hang in her bedroom window. Still, I slogged on. Several weeks, and more 5# bags of marbels than I want to think about -- I got to the end of mine!

Not a lot of forethought went in to this; it's very flimsy, and there's no hard border. The only way to put a frame on it would be to glue it to the underside of the acrylic. It's heeeeeavy, but the holes I drilled in the upper corners are hold -- for now. Wish I'd put the holes on the other end, or even on all corners, so I could hang it a variety of ways. But -- that's how we learn, right?

All those quibbles aside, it fits nearly perfectly in the bathroom window over the tub on the north side of the apartment. It lets the most amazing light in! I'll probably put an easy frame on it and sell it at the summer yard sale, but I'm really enjoying it for now!
