Oh how I love Easter colours!! DH just walked by and asked who's doing the Ukranian egg. He likes it too!!

Hope your back is better soon. I was in your company earlier this week with my lower back pinching the syatic nerve going to the left leg. It's finally starting to feel better. My problem is not being able to sit down for too long. Again, I hope you feel better soon!

I really want to do one of those out of polymer clay. Can we see a picture of your beads on the sides...they just look so great. This is going to be so pretty!

What you are seeing on the sides are more tiles. I am doing a repeating pattern on 4 sides. This one is taking a long time to get anywhere because the pieces are sliding until the glue sets.

How pretty! I really like it! Where are you getting the glass 'colorfushion' tiles? They are perfect for this kind of project! Looking forward to the next picture!

I bought the tiles from Maryland Mosaics - my favorite place for tiles. Hope to have another picture Sunday. It is slow going - I have to wait for each area to dry before I go to the next side. Had a problem with tiles moving on me because I was impatient.

Well this as far as I can get today. I warn you on glazed eggs, they are a pain to mosaic. I don't know where I'm going from here, maybe beads.

I can see your point about the tiles moving because of the curve in the surface. I'd have to have something else on the go to keep me from being impatient with the egg.

I adore those tiles!! Beads would be nice, but you got something in gold??? Gold buttons? Gold beads perhaps? Just thinking here...

Well how pretty is THAT?! Looks perfect sitting in the grass too. Sorry you're ailing, but mosaicing w/help keep your mind off your pain. This is gonna be a real jewel!

Here is the finished piece. Oh I don't know about doing another egg, the between the glazing, the tiles slipping, trying to adjust the tile spacing as the egg got wider, this was a bugger. I grouted white and then painted it with pearl and glitter paint, doesn't show up too well in photo.

It's really pretty -- I would want to do another one -- kind of like being a kid and always wanting to dye more eggs that we could possibly eat. Eggs are fun to decorate!

Maybe you could rough up the glaze to help the slipping?

WOW! What a great project! I too love eggs at easter time! EVERYBODY gets eggs cuz I just love dipping them!!lol! 8", nice size, and I like the way the pink is showing thru the tiles, I bet the grout looks waaaay better in person. Nice job! I'm glad you can do little projects, I think it is so theraputic!

It turned out fantastic! I know it must have been a pain, but well worth it in the end. Sorta like giving birth, huh? Although with a couple of my adult "children" I'm still wondering about the "worth it in the end" part.
