That's a great find, it's so hard to believe people throw out stuff like that, it's like pure gold to me!

Wow! I wouldn't deconstruct it. I'd just get some paint thinner or mineral spirits and clean the paint off. If the frame isn't good, you could reframe it, but it looks like it just needs a good cleaning and maybe a refinishing or painting of the frame by someon who knows how to paint.

What a great find!! My first thought was to de-construct and use the glass...but with further thought, I agree with LASCATX....and if you can't clean it up good enough or re-frame, it would always look good out in the garden.

I was pretty surprised, since it was just in front of my house! I snatched it up pretty quick. It does have have cracks in the glass, on the bottom left and right and a break in three pieces just above the bottom left.
( ooo the garden.. yes maybe ) My bf suggested that I mosaic over the cracks. I wonder if that would work?

I'd clean it up and hang it in my house just as is. I LOVE old things, even if they're broken - got lots of broken art in my house.

Good score!!! I made a GOG similar to that and then promply dropped it right after finishing it!!! I was so mad, but I just couldn't throw it away so it hangs on the wall in my shed.You can't tell it's cracked against the wall like it is.(amber on yellow wall)

If it is only for display, I would clean the paint off and hang it withthe cracked glass. If you wanted to actually use it as a window, there are stained glass shops that will do repairs. There is one here that does an awful lot of stained glass and leaded glass repairs. They did the leaded glass door of my last house as well as brand new panels for the upper cabinets of my new breakfast hutch.

I agree, just clean it up, reframe it if it needs it... like the idea of putting it in the garden.

What a treasure find! I would clean it up and hang it just as is, either in the garden or in a porch/sunroom. If anyone notices the cracks...just tell them "that's the nature of it"! Adds character.
