lurker with pictures

Hello everyone. I'm been lurking for quite sometime. I'm a realtor and the market is so slow I've been having a great time reading this site and trying a few things myself. These are some tiles I did. You can probably tell what they are but: the small ones are under my kitchen window behind the sink and the 3 larger ones are behind the stove. I've gotten so much information reading these post and would like to thank everyone! Rose Mary

Welcome, Rose Mary!! Well, one thing's for sure...you DO know how to get attention with your post title!! LOL!! Anything with pics is opened immediately!

LOVE the tiles you made!! The little touches are wonderful! You must have access to a wet saw if those half cups, etc...How super! Would you mind sharing how you hung the ones behind your stove? Can't quite tell from the pic, looks like a mirror clip (clever idea).

Such pretty work deserves an encore...what's next on your work bench??

Welcome Rose May. That is just so pretty in your kitchen. What kind of tile did you put the mosaic on and how did you afix it to the wall? It looks beautiful and professional.

Nice, nice...what a good job you did. I even spy Fiesta salt and pepper. Do you have more Fiesta? It is my favorite. I have done a Fiesta backsplach in my kitchen. Looks like you could go all the way with yours too. Very nice, I love it.

Hi everyone, thank you for your compliments, but honestly I'd never tried anything like this until I started looking at your pictures and reading all the "how to's". The small tiles are 4x4 and are attatched with "Mapei Type 1 floor and wall tile adhesive". My husband installed them he said just a small amount on each tile and the tiles wanted to slide at first so we rolled up paper towels to hold them in place until they set, but you could probably put some straight pins underneath to hold. The larger tiles 12x12 are installed with mirror clips on the top and just sit on the bottom, no adhesive.

I don't have any tools except some nippers, but I've always been a collector. The man's face in the middle tile is actually a wall pocket. They were used years ago for wall decoration with a flat back and a hole in the back for hanging. The jug on the other side is part of another wallpocket and just got lucky the little vase on the right had a flat back.

The tiles are just regular tiles left over from tiled flooring. I've admired all of your backsplashes, but knew I did not have the patience or know how to do an entire backsplash so this was an easier solution for me. They did not take long to do and were lots of fun.
All of my kitchen dishes, bowls, serving pieces, etc are fiesta. I have all different colors, started collecting it about 15 years ago. I love it flagtruck and it is so durable.

Sorry this got so long. I have some more projects I hope to grout this weekend I will send pics. Ignore all the misspelled words, where's the spell checker? Thanks again

Good for you for jumping in! If you love fiesta, you have to look up Flagtruck's kitchen backsplash!!! I like the idea of using the tiles and really like the face etc!!!
