It has been years since I picked up a paint brush.

I have some peg people that I will be painting for a Pre-K Sunday school class.I have purchased Deco Americana paints and exterior Modge Podge in a gloss finish. I plan to paint the faces and bodies.

I would like to know if I need to seal the peg people before I paint them. If so, which sealer should I use?

Would Deco Americana triple thick glaze be better choice for a final finish? I have read about it on a polymer clay board. There were some comments that it remains tacky in warm weather. I do not know how it is on wood. If it is a good choice is the spray better than the brush on?

If I use a micron pen for the faces will the brush on glaze smear the ink?

Any advice on painting peg people is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.
