Oh, you have some beautiful teapots. I love the bright colored mosaiced one. Are you planningto mosaic all of them? Some look great just the way they are.

How do you plan to do your wall?? I have short wall that goes around a stairwell, I need to do something with it and I want to mosaic it this summer. I'm waiting until it gets warmer to ask for suggestions

Hey, flag!!! Long time no see!! Good to see you and LOVE your teapots! I have one done so far, an old McCormick that was missing a good sized chunk of it's spout. This'll be the first year for it, so I hope 'someone' likes it! I used a sorta combination approach to keep the lid open: copper wire thru the steam hole in the lid, along with a healthy dose of GEII under the lip of the lid where it touches the teapot..How'd you do yours??

Hi to all of you. I have been out of town all week working. Glad you all like the teapots. This is how I did them, it was sort of trial and error. I started with some pitchers that I found and drilled a hole in the bottom for drainage and then put the handle side down and drilled a larger hole in the back of the pitcher about 1" down from the rim. I rummaged around in my workshop and found a large head screw that would fit thru the hole and screwed it into the house , then hung the pitcher on it. Sometimes you have to loosen or tighten the screw to make sure the thing is firmly attached. The birds love them and they are always full. So then I found a teapot and tried it. I used E6000 and masking tape to get the top to stay at an angle, put the spout down for drainage and did the hole in the back the same way. All I have hanging are already full of tenants. I probably will not mosaic all of them as it makes them very heavy. The ones I will use on my back wall in the mosaic, I will attach to the brick with Bondo. I read that this sets up real fast and will HOLD heavy objects. So I will try and see. You can use these houses any where,like on posts, trees, etc. I have found that the ones facing south, north or east are always full. The West facing ones get no takers. The afternoon sun cooks the birds. They seem to like east and south best. I have done all mine under the eaves of the house, shop or garage. It gives a certain abount of shade and protection. I have one on the porch of my studio that stays full all year. I guess they like knowing they are protected.
I will try to do some more pics of the studio wip this weekend. Hope this helps all of you make a bunch of birds happy?

Oh how glad I am that you've joined this side. I jumped over to the junk side yesterday and saw your post, but I simply don't have time to monitor both sides these days. Love your album w/the new stuff. Those birdhouses are so wonderful. Envy you w/a kiln to make great stuff. I came home from Mexico determined to buy one. Just need to know which kind, what size, how to use. I want it all, including a metal cutter and a spot welder. I was meant for better things rather than a retired government servant.

Flag, do you still have these pix? Would love to see them. I just realized my DH snowblowed the roof right off one of my BHs in the yard...a wooden one...so it'll need to be replaced, and the other one I have is also wooden, and literally coming apart at the seams.
