Well JAYDE: M'lady, you've come to the right place. One of the best sources for tutorials is The Joy of Shards at end of this message. Another is Mosaics by Maria. She has a wonderful selection of tiles for pre-cut one and free shipping w/a $60 order (I think, cuz I haven't orderd for a long time - cut my own). Maryland Mosaics is another great source, and if you mention the Garden Web, you get a discount. Just Google for "how to mosaic", and you'll come up w/others. Then, of course, there is a whole encyclopedia of knowledge on this forum. We'll be happy to help - just ask away. And, BTW - you w/LOVE your tile saw, if you choose to go w/china/pottery shards for tesserae. WELCOME to the wonderful obsession/addiction to mosaics and to this forum. You'll LOVE it here.

Welcome! As a newbie myself, I have found this forum (and others) to be the BEST source for information, inspiration, encouragement, knowledge, and all that!
When I first started I went to the libraray and checked out every book they had on mosaics.
Looking forward to seeing the beautiful plant stands you are sure to create!

Thanks for the hearty welcome everyone! I'm sure I will love this new obsession too. Slowmedown: I tried accessing thejoyofshards website but it says access is forbidden. I even tried to google it and got the same response. No bother, thx again and I'll be sure to post questions in the near future. I got a great vintage/antique bird seed holder for a whopping $5 at a flea mkt last weekend so I'll post pictures once I get started on this!
