What a great project. I love the rocks at the bottom and the bright purple coral. Im sure you'll have a blast teaching the kids. My 3 year old, 7yo, and 12 yo love to work on projects with me - it ranges from sticking glass every which way where ever they can to some really creative pics!

I am using silicone and then I will seal the grout with grout sealer when I'm finished. It should hold up very well in the weather.

I love your mailbox. I bet when they deliver mail, they love seeing things like this. If ours wasn't destroyed every few months by cars and baseball bats, I would try it.

LALALove the mailbox :) I'd planned to do ours when we had to replace it, but I put it off and put it off and finally the new one had to go out, plain old black metal. Maybe one of these days...
I homeschool two of my boys, and one of them has been interested in mosaicing. The other would far rather draw (and he DOES draw well I might add). In fact, he's sitting across the room doing just that right now!
Have fun with that class, and be flexible!
