Here

s some pics of urn I am working on. I have yet to figure out how to complete the top, solid or continue what I have?

I will have to interrupt this for the workshop this weekend, but that is okay, I am excited.

Paint it Yellow? Have fun this weekend

WOW, that thing is HUGE! I got no suggestions though, it looks awesome as it is!

OMG, that is beautiful!! So many fun colors and shapes!
What if you painted the raised bands the same yellow as
the tiles on the top and continue with the "crazy" part
    in bewteen?

I want it when your done!!!! I love all the colors....it's very festive and fun..........positively great eye candy! Made me smile!!!

BIG! is right! Wonderful colors. Beautiful!

Big and Beautiful!! Looks like something you'd see in Mexico, I luuuuv it!

    GORGEOUS!!!

Wow! That urn is gorgeous. Just went through your album & so much eye candy. Love your edgers. Just loved everything. I like what Cindiloo said with doing the ribs in one color & then back to the pattern.

LOVE IT!!! LOVE all your bricks too!!!

Wow! That's one huge urn! Beautiful!

For those three bands, I would cut something small to go in between the grooves...or maybe yet...some glass beads. (just a thought) And then continue up with what you have already going there....

Hope you'll show us the finished project!

Wow now that's an urn. I would keep with the colorful look; either covering up the grooves to place pieces over it so it won't be so much to deal with or some beads?

Thanks for all your suggestions. I still don't know. Annie was here yesterday for a few hours before we went to Slow's and she suggested black and white checkerboard like my kitchen. I guess I will have to take all ideas and come up with something.
I made it through the workshop today without getting cut up on the metal lath. Then came home and cut my knuckles on some glass in my studio...drats...now I have bandaids like the rest of the class. I am doing a large leaf birdbath and fountain to go by my pond and drain back into it. This stuff is tough gals, my hands are sore tonight. Cement tomorrow.
Wish you were all here. It is great fun.
Everyone is coming here to my house tomorrow afternoon. I think that will be fun too.
    More later.

sunrise chablis - thank you so much.. I try to be bold and bright. Glad you like it. I try to be pretty diverse in what I do, but it all tends to come out bright. Thanks again
Gypsy= Slow and Bama are coming over today, why don't you join them and bring the warrior? I would rather have him than the 300# man Rianna referred to, lol Anything you have made will fit right in. I will try to do pics of the yard with the two redheads in it. Thanks for the compliments.

Oh Flag, I really like Annie's idea on checkerboards. Cool

Sunrise chablis, why do you show pictures to clients? what do you do for them?

I hunt for unique things for my clients.
They are always looking to buy things no one else will have.
One of my hunts brought me here.

I agree with Annie and NT...checkerboard design would be perfect!!!

    PICS?!?! Yipppeeee!!!!

I am working on the checkerboard about to finish it. Then I will only have inside the top rim to do and then it is grout. I hope to have water running in this baby by next week. Bama and Slow came by on the way to Dallas so Bama could catch her plane this evening. We had a great time and Bama took lots of pics. So we will have to pester her tomorrow to post them. She is a real wiz with that camera of hers. Slow and I were so engrossed in looking at plants we took no pics.
I guess since Calamity won't come grout for me, I will spend the rest of the week grouting if it doesn't rain. I have all the edgers and this big urn to do. I still hate to grout, wish I could learn to like it.

    Welcome to the forum sunrise!

Make sure the artwork for you clients is ORIGINAL..a lot of fakes in the art world

Flag..I'm sure you will come up with something wonderful to fill in with. Wow, everyone got to see your place too!!
    I'm so jealous!!

    It's amazing,like all your work!
I'd love to come and grout for you! Can I borrow the "superwoman" cape Gypsy?

    Oh flag!!The urn is fabulous.
Thanks so much for allowing me to tour your home and garden!!
Ladies, this urn is nothing short of amazing! Pictures do not do it justice. Everything about flag is amazing!! You should see her studio, her kitchen backsplash, her garden, her pond, her other mosaics!!! Whew!!

OH SURE rub it in Bama! lol we're going to need pictorial proof of what you say! heee heee

Here is a WIP picture of the checkerboard black & white on the rim. I found enough curved tile to do two of the rings around the middle and faked a curve with the small white tiles on the top ring.
Today I stand on a stool and do the top inside and I will be ready for grout.
If it doesn't rain all day (lol) I will get the grouting done, if not it will be tomorrow.

0Here is the picture. I tried to imbed it from Flickr site but that didn't work.

Sunrise! Anytime you are planning to buy in Nanaimo, let me know!!! I think it's neat to know we have a shopper around here! It makes me think that somebody else might think what I do is Art too!! Not just a Legend in My Own Mind!!lol!!!

Hi, I'm here gypsy. I just put my house on the market and the condo we own in the city near by.I have been so busy cleaning decluttering, painting etc. I haven't even been able to see Janie-bo for a few weeks. Hopefully it will sell fast and my life can get under control again.
Flag I love that urn, I love the size and boldness of it. What a fabulous water feature it will make.It is gonna be a big grouting adventure for sure. Can't wait to see it all done now,
    Cindy

I have to go look at your pictures now. Sounds like y'all had a blast!

The checkerboard was perfect! That is one huge urn and the colors really make a statement! GORGEOUS!!

Thanks to all of you. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I will finish the top edge and grout everything..ugh, I have a lot to grout. I spent the day today emptying the 3 greenhouses and moving all my succulents and plants to their appropriate pedestals and seats of honor. Then I was a few short, so I quickly mosaic ed 2 more this afternoon and finished the brick pillar I was working on. I probably have a few more days work on the plants, but I want this urn pumping water by Monday sure.
I appreciate all the complements and I am glad you all got to see more of my yard. I love the black and white Annie, I'm glad you thought of it, I probably never would have.

It was so wonderful to see this puppy in person. We arrived and there Flag sat mosaicing her little heart out - on bird houses. She has several projects going simultaneously. Made me want to come home and mosaic everything in sight. This urn is soooooo beautiful, and I can't wait to see it made into the water feature. I love all the water features in your wonderful garden, and w/be anxious to see you make the huge leaf and attach it over your pond. Can't you work faster? LOL
