Recycled Dragonfly

I came across this candle shield (I guess that's what it's called) at a thrift shop. Decided he needed 'glitzifying!" :) Started gluing on some mirror and beads and those little glitter tiles and started thinking about grouting (AND all the stuff I have WAITING to be grouted. ) So.... remembering that several folks 'grout' with seed beads I thought I'd try it.

The candle goes behind the glass disk at the top. It has a dragonfly imprint on it.

(I've half thought of trying to take the dragonfly OFF of the stand... and putting it on a tree outside... without the candle thing too. So it would JUST be the dragonfly. Should have done that BEFORE mosaicking... but may try it anyway! I used GEII so maybe even the seed beads would hold.... I think...?)

Wooooohoooo! Blingy for sure, and beautiful. I don't quite understand the candle sheild thingy. I was expecting a little jar to hold a tea light w/a DF in front of it, so when I see this HUGE outdoor thing, I was shocked. Never saw one of these. What a great project.

Uh oh... I probably gave you a wrong idea about the size. It's sort of a large a table top candle holder. The wing span of the dragonfly is 8 1/2 inches.
Slow... you're right.. it holds a tea light candle... behind the white disk thingy. I'll take a better picture.
Ladyronnie... I LOVE your dragonfly pieces! I remember when you put the stepping stone on the forum. I'd love to make a leaf print..a nd you were so clever to put the dragonfly on top! Beautiful!
I still may take the dragonfly off the stand and see about hanging it on the wall. We have very little shelf space. I may just hang it outside our front door! Hmmm... decision made!
Sometimes I feel almost like I'm discussing things with y'all... yup...addiction! :)
