Here is that fairy gog I started a long time ago, I really had something totally different in mind,but this is what it is:

It is on a float frame ( 2 sheets clear glass) Originally I wanted to put the trees on top to make it look like the fairy was in the inside, but the trees were too dark and obscured the fairy, so on the top sheet of glass I cut out clear textured glass. These photos don't quite capture what it looks like, and it's not dry so the glue looks blue. I have not decided to keep the overlay either and will probably add something else. ( but not today)

Oh, my gosh. She's so special. Your work is wonderful and an inspiration to me. SOMEDAY I'd love to learn to do something like that, and I have no idea of your technique. Can you tell us more about how you've secured the glass? I understand that it is between two pieces of glass, but is it glued? Wow, she's wonderful. You must be so happy with her.

Oh Lori... it's WONDERFUL! It's so beautifully laid out... darks on the outside... drawing us into the center and your lovely fairy. Just amazing! Is her headband chain? Gosh.. I just keep going back to look at it again... LOVE IT!

how you did this either...Is some of it
on one piece of glass and then the rest
on the other piece of glass and then put
over the first piece?

It appears to me that you've cut out sort of a window on your top sheet of glass, making a kind of shadow box effect. Whatever your technique I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this piece. There's so much dimension in it, and your colors, shapes and placement is beautifully done. Bravo - this is very special, indeed.

This is really nice. Never heard of the technique either, but it looks interesting. Gives different depth to the piece.

The top sheet is whole, with just textured clear glass glued. The glue dried but you can see the bubbles underneath. So I don't think that I will keep it on. ( I debated on grouting and even tried painting the edges of the clear shapes with glass paint, didn't work well)
I think that I will have to get a light box for the next one. I think that a abstract one might work, maybe a kaleidoscope pattern with less color? I had never seen a "double gog" either, so there was no "technique" I am a bit "depth perception challenged" So this was a difficult for me. I am thinking it may spark an idea in someone who can improve on this.
( ps. Kate yes it's ball chain! I thought of you when I used this! and Daisy the frame comes with a spacer so the two sheets are separate)
