Question: A cool tile place in Austin?

Months ago.. someone posted information and a picture about a very cool place near Austin, TX. I printed the information... but here I am visiting DD, SIL and wonderful Granddaughter almost a year old... :) and I forgot to bring the information! Darn!

I did a search on the word "austin." but couldn't find it.

Does anyone happen to remember? I think it was a gardeney type shop... with tiles... maybe stained glass... lots of funky and fun pots.. lots of color... ? It just looked like a wonderful place to find.... and I'm so frustrated to have forgotten the information.

I'll appreciate anything that someone might remember.

It was just outside Austin as I remember.

Yep. I was just talking to crackpot about this place yesterday!! No tile, but lots of glass rocks and neat artsy stuff.

I hope we'll have time to drive out and look for it. I have to fly home on Wednesday so... if not this time... then in June.

Glad you posted that Fiddlekate....I immediately sent the thread to my nephew who lives in Austin......and told him to check it out for me so WHENEVER I get to Austin, he can take me....!

Don't know about that place, but there is some AWESOME TS shopping in the Austin area! Haven't been there in a couple of years, but I well remember spending a fortune! Hopefully DH has forgotten - LOL!

Ah... thrift shops. Haven't had time to look for those this time... but this summer will have to do that. Thanks for the tip, Pat! Good thinking, gypsy! :)
It's a great city... but I'm happily spending most of my time holding dear granddaughter. :)

Awww, Kate!!! Lucky YOU!!! That place looks Awesome!!! Is that slag glass? I wonder how hard it is to make your own slag glass??? After finding that site about the slag glass they are using for Garden Art in Africa, I really am interested in it, but it is pricey to buy here.

I don't know how they make he thicker glass pieces.. but I'm really interested now!
Just got home from the Whole Foods main store in Austin.. and REALLY enjoyed looking at the candy counter that was mosaicked by Aly Willingham.
It's done with thick chunks of tumbled dark red glass which is a great background for the stars and swirls. It's gorgeous! I put in the web page below so that you can see it, too. Just happens to be at the candy counter. :)

Headed home tomorrow with granddaughter hugs.. and mosaic inspiration. What could be better! :) (Well... better would be more frequent granddaughter hugs... but we do the best we can. :)
