an ebay find

i'm not sure how i'm going to put these into a mosaic but i will! i've looked at lots of old/antique keys on ebay before but these ones didn't go for as much ($3) because not all of them are real keys and not all of them are antiques. i didn't know there were folks who collected old keys, but apparently there are :)

anyway, i hope it leads to something good. i'll have a lot of spare time on my hands b/c my better half is moving 10 hours away for work until at least august (or until i get a job up there, too, and then sell the house, pack, move... ughhhhhhhhhhh..) but, until there's confirmation of a job, i'm making some new stuff!!! :D

Ooooooooooo how neat. On the first row - looks like a Sardines can key. These w/add so much to ANYTHING. Great find.

I think you could add some to a mosaic birdhouse. I see some birdhouses with old door knobs.

i never thought of doorknobs - that's a very cool idea! i also bought one of those chain slidey lock things last fall. maybe if i hunted around at garage sales, i could so a whole mosaic with locks, hinges and keys etc.(with some mirror and glass of course!)

slow, i think you're right about the sardines can. i think some of them look like luggage keys or the wimpy little keys used for diaries. it's a good selection of different stuff for sure!

Awesome find! Looking forward to seeing what you do with them! I especially like the heart shaped ones... a key to my heart mosaic!
