Ok. Learning to play with glass shards

and then making lemon chicken is Not a good idea.

    took me a minute to make the connection, but I got it! glass shards--->tiny cuts + lemon juice--->OUCH!

    Add vinegar to the mix and you could have sweet/sour chicken and reallllllllllly ouchie hands.

    I feel your pain.
    I had a couple of small cuts on my fingers after a night of mosaic last night. Today I remembered where each of them were when I got pickle juice on my hands!!

    Had my first stained glass class last night! What fun. I learned how to cut a straight line free hand, against a ruler, inner circles & outer circles. During the week I have to practice cutting.

    I was the first to need a bandaid - there is only 4 of us in the class. The last thing we did was make a fish - with lots of inner circles & outer circles. Mine was covered in blood. Then we went to the grinder to make it smooth & my instructer said not to worry, by the time I'm done grinding the blood will be gone. I said, oh no, I want my DH to see all my hard work. There was none left after the grinding. I'll need a BIG box of bandaids for the next class, LOLOL!

    you betcha..it always hurts and never stops..no matter how much you've done.

    I hate it when I accidently grind off the nail part of my nail bed and don't realize it when I'm grinding a small piece of glass!!!

    linlee your chicken sounded painful but good!!

    Just wait til grout gets in those cut's .I am one of those that can't stand to wear gloves and have had some really infected cuts..so beware...

    This new endeavor into glass somehow doesn't sound as pleasant as I was picturing. Sounds kinda dangerous...
    I like dangerous ;o)

    (the lemon was worth it...love that grilled Greek chicken)

    Linee I feel your pain. When I did my first mosaic with china I did not notice how sore my hands were getting while grouting until the NEXT day. YOUCH is right. Course I had also not learned how to smooth pieces yet. I keep that table just to remind me what NOT to do again. Hope your hands heal fast.
