the grout on that _countertop_ has issues, don't look at that! It was white grout, that I sealed twice, then painted (white), and it STILL wipes out of the grooves, so I haven't cleaned up the edges. It needs to be dug out and redone. BAD GROUT!

Thanks SLOW. The vase has the same grout as I used on that faulty countertop, but I colored it with craft paint so it would probably have been ok. The epoxy was kind of insurance! I haven't decided if I will paraffin the inside of the gourd so it would be waterproof, but I don't think I will, just use dry stuff in it. (The daylily leaves were just for effect :)

Woo Hoo! Came full circle! Gourd is beautiful! Did you grow them? The reason I found this awesome forum, is that I had asked on Garden Junk if anyone had done mosaic on a gourd, and they referred me here!!! I grew about 90 last year, and got tired of decopodgeing them! (still haven't done one!) Wish I could paint, but I guess we all paint with glass, tile and china! Great vase! Jennie

Hey Jennie, thanks! Yep, we grew them, dozens of them! I'd never mosaiced a gourd before either. This is really just the top off a really big one that got broken. I'll definitely do more. We have done some woodburning on them, made some pitchers and birdhouses. Very cool medium!
