'Organic' Planter

Riana said it looked "organic". This was made from a leftover piece of lath after I cut out the strawberry birdbath, so I could try my hand at concreting while at the workshop. I've never mosaiced something in this chunky style, but I kinda like it. These were mostly shards my kids had picked up in an old garden spot a while back, along with the scraps from making the yellow "seeds" for the strawberry. The thinset has dried to the same color as the concrete now. The cylinder is hollow, with a false bottom about three inches below where the edge curves down.
