this one is so intriguing that I can't wait till next Tuesday.

I got a call today, from my mom's friend..I think I have mentioned her before.

she said that she is inviting me to come to her house on Tuesdays and start a project in the porcelain painting and she knows that I'm not 100% interested in the traditional form of this art...I mean, I don't really want to do the florals and 24k gold trim and high end china..I like abstract and she has a lady who prefers that type also..

so, I get to learn to paint on porcelain, with the china paints and do it in a stained glass design.

there's a gray paint that once fired, looks just like the lead and then the paints for the rest are transparent, to look like stained glass works..it's a 3 or 4 firing process in the kiln.

The whole reason for this opportunity, is that she says she knows that she's peaked in her teaching and doesn't want the art to go unappreciated and hopes that somewhere in there, I will pick up a love for it, like my mom did, when they painted and taught together.

I never took advantage of it, when my mom was really involved with it all because we were more or less (more) estranged and I just didn't care.

now, my mom is way into dementia and there's no way she can do the work anymore and I feel in my heart that it's time that I dive in and recapture that inherited love of art.

it's going to be a self discovery kind of adventure and in some ways, I'm very nervous but the time couldn't be better and I have the physical time to do this...

wish me luck...I'm going to need it and still do the projects that I've already gotten far into here with the regular mosaics.
