I like the mini pendant a lot. Someone on here had a very good source for very discounted seagull lighting. If I can dig it up I will post back...

Thanks for your advice and help with the link. DH is also not a fan of the ceiling fixture, but likes the pendants. I also think that the size of the ceiling fixture may be too small. I mocked up both last night. (Learned that trick here!). I'll have to look at the other ceiling fixtures in the Highland series.
