Wow Calamity - you made my day. But the lady had bins of broken glass & I just picked a color scheme & just started glueing. You give me far too much credit.

I have been so busy lately with yardwork. Planted a mini rose garden today. I have so many WIP & am going non-stop. DH said I have to take time out & do some housework sometime. My 1 son cooked meals 3 times this week to help me out, LOL!

I am taking my stained glass class & am learning so much on cutting glass. And those groziers are very useful. I learned never to wear sandals to class. With the groziers glass slivers fly everywhere, LOLOL! The class is THE BEST!

One sad note - my edgers - the ceramic tile - everything stays in the cement but the water with freeze-thaw must have gone underneath & pops the colored part right off. All that work. And I sealed them. It will make it this year - but I'm going to do the next ones in stained glass. Will start this year & replace one at a time & through the winter. The duck which was done in grout is still perfect. I didn't know that much difference between grout & cement & that's with ceramic tile - but I did put it on my porch. I am going to do my next ones like the link - look at pic below the ad - woohoo!

Greenhouse is starting to sell flowers & am waiting to see if my painted cement cast leaves sell. I'm getting my grinder with that money.

My stained glass class - teacher is pulling out the Glastar strip maker & will show me how to use it next lesson. Even how to make the diamonds. He loved all my mosaics. Took my camera to class to take a pic of my aunt & showed him some of the pics in the memory. My one son said he's buying it for me for Mother's Day. Yahoo!

WOW! Sounds like you are having plenty of fun! Glad you are enjoying your class! So you are getting a mold and a glass star cutter? I wanna learn how to do diamonds with my glass star, I've only used it to do circles! So I undersatand the freeze thaw part but what did you use to glue the pavers on...or was it the pour it into the mold...direct, indirect??? I'm all befuddled as I'm feeling quite sick right now, some sore throat thing, gland and throut are swollen bad! DH is away and I've torn my bedroom apart so I hope I feel better tomorrow so I can try to finish!!! Oh, I wanna make cement stuff!!! I'll have to bug Klinger cuz she has a cement mixer and tons of molds!!!! Even a bench mold!!! She's Da Bomb!!!

Oh, that one - very pretty indeed. That is sooooooo sad to read about those wonderful edgers not making the winter. Where do you live? The Delphi edgers are pretty but I like your designs better. So, you'll do the indirect method w/glass? Those should hold up well. What concrete mixture w/you use? W/you use a re-enforcement mesh of any kind? I know my ready-made concrete edgers are easily broken if I'm not careful w/them.

Calamity - I'll empty my camera & take movies - have a GIG memory card in it - it will work - the lighting is good in the room so you should be able to see how he does it - it is a camera. Oooh! Maybe we can put the little mini movie in the FAQ! Or at least the link. I'll leave it on the big web site I do - we always have lots of space on that web site - it has over 3,000 pages.

I think I'll do the grozier one too - one with me trying to do it & then ask my teacher to do it & you can watch the glass fly - as he is a pro at it & have a laugh at me doing it, LOL!

Slow ~ Yes, I will do the indirect method. I'll try one - if I don't like it - I'll just make cement molds & then grout everything on. I used GEII. Maybe after I cut the ceramic tiles I should have sealed them before glueing them on? I know you are not to use inside tiles for use in the outside - maybe this is why? I thought I was safe since it was embedded in the cement. Or maybe I should use Slow's way with Maipei morter??? I dunno but those edgers were DA BOMB & is just so sad to see this happening.

I live in Pittsburgh - we actually had a mild winter. My edgers were perfect, made it through the winter & all of a sudden 2 weeks ago all heck broke loose. They still look pretty but 1 more winter & they are going to start to look pretty bad.

I was thinking about using this Quickwall that has fibers in it for strength. Haven't put a lot of thought into it as I have too many projects going on in the yard. They have cement for stepping stones at the mosaic store - he said it had strengtheners in it - I'm going to check out what's in it next time. Maybe when I get the edger mold, it will have some directions. It sure looks like a lot of work. I figure I can cut the glass all winter long & spring start banging them out.
