Acryllic tess. Does it hold up? Look cheap?

I am thinking of putting some acryllic tess in a piece I am making because I love the shape (leaves). I'll be mixing it with glass and dish shards. Will it hold up to the sanded grout? Will it wear out and look cheap?
I did a search but did't turn anything up tho I'm pretty sure I've seen pieces with some acryllic in it here before.

If I use any type of plastic tess I try to protect it during grouting, and keep it out of sun to protect against fading. I try to avoid plastic because to me it does look tacky, especially if there is too much of it, but sometimes there are things you just love and have to use.
