I made the one on DYI, with the terra cotta saucer for the top. You fill the wine bottle with sand, and put a piece of rebar in the ground and put the bottle over it. If I make another one, I want to round the top a little
somehow.

Hi Annie! Okay, I know I'm not "Nice" or "Hazie"...but here I am anyway! :) I loved Hazie's idea about using the wine bottle as a stem for the mushrooms....and I borrowed that idea, and modified it to use bud vases. Loved the way that worked out....covered the vases with a concrete mix and just set the "cap" on top - I have a post that describes the whole process. Hopefully the link below will give you that post - if not search for "some mushrooms done".

Oh, and there's a picture of a really cute mushroom that squirlley did, too....

oh, and I finished 3 more mushrooms just recently...just took a picture of them this afternoon, I'll post it soon.

yep, I have a 20' tall yellow bottle tree but it's a WIP.
after studying it I'm thinking of doing some pruning. I'm gonna top it down to the 2nd crotch, removing the 3 top bottles. I need it to have more character. I also have fantasies of running it with wires and putting lights at the ends of each branch... and then covering it with mesh and crete... we'll see...

Thanks Nice I found it when I found your mermaid picture.It's really nice I think I am going to use a post instead,I think it will look best in my yard but not sure just how yet.Mf friends just brought me 20 blue wine bottles so I will use them somehow.It took me 3 days to get the labels off I used everyhing I could think of ...ice,heat,hairdryer,goop off,soap comet and a knife it was awful!Now I have found out you can buy empty cases on line for around 11 dollars much easier!Thanks Annie
