Annie, I have a T3 and my cousin has a T2. When cutting glass on the T2, you move the glass around to cut. A T3, you don't have to move the glass because the blade cuts on all sides. That doesn't sound right, you do move the glass but you don't have to twist and turn it on the T3. You lay it flat and can start cutting on the side (or top or bottom) of the blade. Whereas the T2 you turn your glass piece while cutting because the blade is sharp only on the front edge.

The T3 also is flexible in the sense that you can take it off the table and use separately. I'm trying to help you but I don't think I'm coming across with the right language - sorry.

I think the T3 is easier to clean. I take my blade out of the water when I'm done cutting. I think replacement blades are about the same cost for either one but check.

Go for the T3, the T2 has been around a long time.

Hi Annie - I just got mine! I got the Taurus 3 - I read about them both and I thought that the Taurus 3 had better features - like several that Debbi mentioned. I ordered mine from Diamond Drill & Tool - got extra blades and the accessory kit, too. After I saw what NICE was able to do with those blue and white plates, I knew I had to have one! I just checked, and they are out of stock (with approximate ship date of 6/20), but check out their website - you can read all about both models. Not that you didn't do a great job, Debbie! You are always so good about providing information!!

I have the T3 and I think nice does too...I really like it as long as Im only using it for glass. I think its a great saw...I can't say anything bad about the T2 because I've never used it!!!

ACCESORIES???!!!! Oh man , now I gotta go look!!! I forgot about/was blissfully in denial till you reminded me of them!!! A taurus saw RULES!!! I bought it to do my peacock panel, which is sitting in the corner shaming me...as I use it for plates/dishes....Way to go for asking about them!!! I was at a stained glass store that has a big sale every year, ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! How awesome is that!!! And they had a few types displayed so people could test drive em to see which they liked. I like a different one, but it was like 700, so went with this one and love it, it cuts stuff like butter but unfortuneately I am like a drunk driver using it, but I'll get better with practice!!lol!

Really, NT? My cousin's is several years old so maybe you have a newer version? Her's cuts from the front and maybe from the back and that's it so you constantly have to twist your glass while cutting. Interesting. Maybe when I used her's it was the original blade and now they have updated them. But I think that was one of the selling points of the T3. Oh, well, glad you corrected me, NT.

There is an oval narrow blade that fits the T2 so maybe that's the one. Maria, why didn't you look at the Titan?

It seemed the Taurus was the saw of choice in this forum. So I had my mind on that. Plus it was a little more $$ for the Titan

I think it is Maria, I have the T3. It's just I was surprised to see a question on the T2, it's been a while since it was discontinued.
The Titan comes with a Mega blade and is more orientated toward ceramics. A T3 with a mega blade would be much the same price as the Titan.

Now that Yvonne's mentioned it, I think Titan is the one I was looking at awhile back. It seemed to make so much more sense to get that Mega blade meant for the ceramics, rather than wearing out too-expensive Taurus blades meant for glass. Could you use a Mega blade with a Taurus?

Speaking of saws, has anyone tried the Gryphon Omni-2 Wire Saw? What attracts me to this saw over the Tarus is the replacement blade cost. For the Gryphon it's $20 something for a 3 pack of blades vs. $90 for the Tarus. Also the Gryphon can do inside cuts. The Tarus can too if you plunk down another $90 for a special separating blade.

I currently have a borrowed 12 year old Diamond Laser 3000 band saw that I just used for the first time yesterday. It needed a new drive belt, so I replaced that. Then discovered it has a motor problem. Managed to get it working & promptly broke the blade. While it was actually working it threw water all over the place. The table is designed with channels & holes that extend past the water collection basin! Water water everywhere. I'd replace the blade, especially since it's borrowed, but I think the motor's going.

Woo-hoo, got the tracking number for fed-ex for my saw!!

Maria, you are doing good! My suggestion for the T3 is to make sure you go slow and don't push on your blade. I get anxious while cutting and want to push my glass through but found that I damaged grommets and blade. So one replaced blade and grommets taught me to slow down. I use it now only for cuts I can't make with my hand cutter or by grinding to save my blade.
