I see them - there's a little gator on the "A" - LOVE them. Your work is GREAT. Why be a lurker - join us and have a blast. Good mosaicing. I especially like "LSU". Is that Louisiana State? Where are you in LA? My mother/brother live in Columbia - so of Monroe.

I have posted them again. Yes, some were marked for friends instead of public.

I live on the Mississippi coast, we are big LSU fans.

Thanks everyone! A mirror will go in the center of the gator. Too hot to grout! We hit a record high here today, 97 degress with a heat index of 110!!! I'd hate to do it, but if it doesn't cool off soon, I'll have to bring a bunch of things inside.

By the way, my inspiration for the gator came from HGTV, That's Clever. I did a search online under that program for mosaics and found a great artist who had done a gecko. I just made my own pattern and voila!!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. It makes me feel great since I have been going thru old posts admiring everyone's work. I used 3/4" plywood for the gator. It is supposed to have a mirror in the center. I'm considering making my life more difficult and having the center lighted. I'm thinking of building some kind of shadow box frame to attach to the back so I could glue onto the glass and then stick xmas lights inside. He will eventually hand on my shed. What do y'all think?

I've had to grout him in sections. We've had a horrible heat wave for the last week with temperatures over 95 every day. I can only go out in the mornings and I'm REALLY not a morning person!

The lights sound like a neat idea! Don't be afraid to try ANYTHING. If it works, great, if not, well chalk it up to a learning experience.
I'm right there with ya on the mornings, but if I have something to look forward to doing, it's easier to get up for!

It's all fantastic Bugster!!! I'd be a puddle in that heat!!! Now I wanna do a flamingo! They are so amazing, that a bird could be pink!!!! I have a friend whose packed around a 3ft styrofoam parrot for a couple of years now(she moves a lot!) and STILL hasn't started to mosaic it!!! I just wanna smash a dish and get started on it everytime I see it!!! She's the most eclectic Mary Kay Lady you'd ever meet!!!

Heat-- I am such a wimp. Can't take it anymore. I mean, really... it's nearly 80F here right now and I feel like I am going to melt. Wimp! The only good news is that it's 99F where I used to live. Got me a Cheshire Cat grin going on right about now.
