Just the one lady at work gave me some dishes and those broken cups. I think I'll make a frame from them for her.

Heck I wish people would remember that I'll take anything broken but they just throw it away instead.You're lucky!

My mother-in-law (who doesn't even like me much!) got me a set of French doors for glass on glass work through freecycle!

My neighbors bring me broken plates and a very special friend/neighbor brings me "creepy-heads" to mosaic my bowling ball with faces.

I'm thrilled with what they bring and haven't had to pass on any of it yet!

My stained glass store owner collects those M&M figures (the plain and the peanut M&M's doing silly things together). I took one into him and he gave me about 6 pounds of bullseye glass for free!

Barter is a good thing (and in that case I was actually just trying to get rid of one more thing collecting dust!)!

I get a lot of tile scraps from floor jobs from various people. I had a stained glass artist give me 2 five gallon buckets of small scraps and 5 boxes of scraps 12" and smaller. All kinds of glass in there for me to sort(still sorting). She was moving and it was easier for her to give it away than move it cross country.

My class gets broken tile donations from tile stores also broken dishes from the thrift store that is in the same complex as the school is.

I am baaad, I go so often (I call it doing the circuit!) to all my ts haunts, that they all know and save me stuff now! I got a little tmbler(kids size) that way so I really like having the two tumblers!!! That reminds me, gotta go get those bbs!!!.....

I was going to say no, not so far..and then yesterday I got a call from a friend who has a set of dishes in the trunk of her car. she had them for her daughter and somewhere, along the ride home, she hit a speed bump, fairly fast...
so, she called me and asked if I wanted some broken dishes..lol

Nope, I haven't been so lucky yet, but I am working on it. I was standing in line next to a guy who ended up telling me he installs tile for a living. I walked out the door with his phone number and a promise that he would save scraps for me. I'm crossing my fingers that he will!

Now people like to give me things that are already mosaic...store bought stuff. baaah...to get some broken dishes or stuff like that would be so GREAT.
